Description
A mold-made shield-shaped oil lamp of the Beit Nattif type, its shoulder decorated in relief with a central menorah flanked by scrolling floral ornament, bordered by raised dot-and-ring decoration and a row of small perforations along the top edge — a hallmark of this Judean-produced type. The filling hole sits within concentric molded rings, with a small lug handle below. The menorah motif reflects the type’s strong association with Jewish communities in Roman-period Judaea, making these lamps an important class of material evidence for Jewish domestic and religious life in the centuries following the Temple’s destruction.
