Large Glass Lentoid Flask

Category:
Description
Description

The lentoid, or convex, shape of this flask was a common style used for vessels of this type that allowed them to be easily stowed on the long journeys on Rome’s fabled highways. The looped handles on either side of the flask’s neck are slightly uneven, while the large body below is shaped to an almost perfectly round disc.

This piece is 20 cm in height and remains in excellent condition. The glass has been cleaned and restored, and some of the original bright teal peeks through the flask’s aged body.
